About Me

I am a qualified and experienced life coach, working with adults who are looking to make positive changes in their life.

My background is as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS. I have worked in a range of different settings with people experiencing various types of mental health challenges. Among my specialist areas are self-esteem issues; stress/anxiety management; and helping people to cope in times of change.

Like most people, my life has been characterised by ups and downs and many of the techniques that I now use with my life coaching clients are ones that I have employed to great effect in my own life.  This lived experience not only gives me great empathy but it also enables me to have absolute confidence in my approach. I know these techniques work because they have worked for me and the many people I have coached.

Today I work from my farmhouse just outside Totnes providing life coaching to private clients. I use a whole range of techniques and approaches developed throughout my career in mental health. While some of the work I do involves simple techniques such as goal-setting and planning, I also work at a much deeper level, when necessary, supporting clients with issues such as self-esteem, anxiety and self-sabotage.

About Life Coaching

Life continually presents us with challenges and opportunities and we may respond differently at different times according to our state of mind, the circumstances of our life and the resources available to us at that time. Significant life changes – such as loss, divorce, parenthood – serious health issues or other challenges can tip the balance and we may find ourselves struggling to cope.

Working with a life coach at such times can be amazingly supportive and can help us tap into our inner resources.  It can help us to see where we want to go and provide tools to enable us to get there.

A life coach provides a place of sanctuary, calm and reflection away from the stress of day to day life. It gives you time and privacy to think about your life and what is important to you. And it can provide you with tools and techniques to help you to reconnect with the power that is within you.

Many psychological states such as anxiety, lack of confidence, low self-esteem , mild depression and perfectionism can be improved by unravelling your self sabotaging thoughts, limiting beliefs and your unconscious and often outdated ‘rules for living’.  Life coaching can help you to create a new way to live your life and support you to let go of old habits that are no longer serving you.
